Cultivating Followers of Jesus, according to the Great Commission.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
— Matthew 28:18-20

Spiritual Formation, which is the process of being formed into the image of Jesus.

We proclaim him, admonishing (advising, urging) and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
— Colossians 1:28

A community healed as the Kingdom of God expands in Portage/Kalamazoo and beyond.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness & worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
— Titus 2:11-14

Lifestage Formatives
(the 3x3)

Lifestage Formatives

Every life stage participates in three formatives: Gathering together for worship, Grouping together for community, and Going to serve -- here at PFM, near in southwest Michigan, and far as we impact ministry around the world. We believe that these three formatives are essential for spiritual formation. Simplified, but not necessarily simple. Streamlined, but each critical for growth. Christian spiritual formation brings about the life change that every person desires (Romans 7:15-20). God invites all people to respond to the gospel by faith (John 3:15-17), and to be shaped into the image of His Son, Jesus, by the transforming power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:28-30).

If someone were to ask the question “how do I participate in the life of PFM?”
,or, specifically, “what are the non-negotiables of spiritual formation?”

  1. Be here every Sunday as we gather together to celebrate God in worship!
  2. Spend intentional time with a group of people who aim to get to know Jesus better together in a group!
  3. Make a Kingdom-expanding difference by giving yourself away in acts of Christ-like servanthood: go here, near, and far!

What should I expect
on Sunday Morning?

You will be greeted at the door by our friendly greeters. They will be able to show you where to go next. Our services are typically an hour long. Each service will have a solid time of worship and prayer followed by a strong Biblical message.

What do we believe?

We believe in God; the one God, creator of everything, including us. We believe that God exists and will continue to exist eternally in three persons; the Father (God), the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. We believe God sent his one and only Son,
Jesus, to die so we could ultimately live.

What programs are
available for children?

We can't wait to meet your kids. We offer nursery for 0-3 years old, and age-appropriate classes for ages 4 years old to 5th grade, all taught by trained and screened adults on Sundays at 11:00am. We even offer a teen youth group on Sundays and Wednesdays.

What should I wear?

You will see people wearing jeans, t-shirts, and others wearing dress clothes. Be comfortable. It's up to you!
